
Lake Turkana
Lake Turkana is the world's largest alkaline and permanent desert lake, located in the Kenyan rift valley and bordered to the north by Ethiopia. With a surface area of 6,405 km2, the lake is the world's fourth-largest salt lake and the 24th-largest lake overall.
Travellers of Oltukai Nature Adventures will have the opportunity to visit the smallest El Molo community who live along the shores and on the small Islands inside the lake. The El Molo community are fisherfolks and have a deep history and strong cultures rooted in the lake and the lake water animals such as the hippo.
Oltukai Nature Adventure travellers will as well have the opportunity to visit a desert museum at the shores of the lake and stay a night or two around the shores of the beautiful beaches of the lake.
